Eagledale Receiving Family Planning Clinic

Wishard Family Planning Clinic is moving its services to Eagledale Plaza. The clinic offers routine reproductive health care services to women with low income. The clinic's new location will free up examination space at the three primary health centers to treat patients in need of more urgent care.

Many of the visits are free or at a low cost, based on income. Linda Johnson of Family Planning Services said 20,000 women used the medical service last year. Wishard chose Eagledale because it is centrally located in the service area. The clinic will have bilingual staff available to assist non-English speaking clients. She expects the clinic to be open in the first quarter of 2010.

Thomas J. Ringham, associate Vice President, Facilities/Transformation, explained the remodeling project should cost less than $300,000. He said accessibility to its client base was another reason for the site's selection. The move will free up space at the Blackburn Health Center, Westside Health Center, and Wishard Primary Care Center adjacent to the hospital.
