10th Street Widening Years Away

The Department of Metropolitan Development's long range plans call for
widening 10th Street to three lanes in each direction from Lynhurst Drive
to Cossell. According to DMD PIO John Bartholomew, the plan would not be
implemented until sometime after 2025 unless funding or priorities changed.
He indicated that no widening is recommended from Cossell to Holt Road.
Speedway's redevelopment plans call for 10th to be moved north of its current
location from Polco to Main Street.
Bartholomew said it would only be "speculative" now to say if
the homes and businesses along 10th Street would need to be acquired, since
the design and scope of work has not been conducted to determine the right-of-way.
