INDOT to Begin Construction in April

INDOT gave notice on January 6 that Accelerate 465 construction in the US 136 and Crawfordsville area should begin in April. The notice was a part of the requirement to file for a National Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit in case debris enters Eagle Creek. The construction project should be finished in September 2010.

INDOT's Will Wingfield said "This contract isn't scheduled for bid until April, so we don't have construction plans just yet. Most of the construction timeline is set by utility relocation and the contractors themselves."

Part of the Accelerate 465 plans require the demolition of Red Roof Inn and West Wind Terrace apartments. Wingfield explained that INDOT has not extended a formal offer to purchase Red Roof Inn because the appraisals are not finished. "INDOT is still assisting tenants at the West Wind Terrace Apartments with relocations."
