CVS Signs Approved

The Speedway Board of Zoning Appeals saw no problems with CVS' request to reuse Wendy's existing sign located at Crawfordsville Road and Cunningham Road.

BZA member Jeremy Gooch didn't think the sign height of 34 feet with the Chase sign located below would interfere with motorist driving since the sign has always been there.

According to the petitioner's attorney Wayne DeLong, the corner will become an integrated retail section. CVS and Chase Bank will have adjoined paving to allow traffic to cross over without exiting onto Crawfordsville Road or Cunningham Road.

"If you improve traffic flow, you'll have my undying gratitude," BZA member Ernest Williams quipped.

The board's September 5 approval also allowed for a four foot tall monument sign to be located 14 feet from curb on the bank's east entrance. The Chase Bank sign will move toward the south from its current spot to provide egress to CVS. The proposed CVS will have 12,900 square feet with 58 sparking spaces on the 1.34 acres.

The BZA also agreed to add Lord of Harvest to the Oct 3 agenda. The petitioners are requesting to use 2828 N. High School Road as a church.
