Eagle Creek Airpark Constructs Petroleum Containment Structures(posted Sept 1) Eagle Creek Airpark is starting construction to build $1,239,000 structures at the south end of the park as part of a storm water discharge project to protect the water of Eagle Creek Reservoir. Todd Cavender, Indianapolis Airport Authority Environmental Manager, explained the project is to contain petroleum from being discharged into waters of Eagle Creek Reservoir. "The scope of the project includes building control and containment structures to serve as a secondary containment device for storage tanks and aircraft fueling activities." Similar projects are occurring also at Metropolitan Airport and Mt. Comfort Airport. All three projects cost $2,128,840. The project should conclude at the end of the year. |
