Coca-Cola Files Notice of Intent with IDEM(posted Nov 27) IDEM Public Information Officer Steve Polston said Coke has filed a notice of intent to discharge storm water into Dry Run Creek diversion. The notice requires Coca-Cola to develop storm water pollution prevention plan for IDEM's inspection. The plan must contain site maps, drainage maps, potential pollutants and best management practices for preventing contaminated run off. The Notice of Intent contains three outfall points that will collect run off from employee and fleet parking; roof drainage and unloading areas; and refuse and material storage areas. The collections from parking and refuse will require an annual grab sample. The information will become part of an annual report to show water quality comparisons and to assure the preventative plan is effective. |
